Anantara Layan is located at a very discrete location in Phuket, Layan Beach. It is near Bangtao beach which is not too far from the Phuket international airport. The site where the resort is located is very unique. One side of the resort is situated on a sloped hill the other side it is by a beach, another side it is next to the Layan National Park.

The resort has two zones, the beach side area and the hill side area. The Beach side area has the main pool which looks out to the beach; Sala Layan is the main restaurant of the resort. There are many room types and villas in this area. Some have beach access, some have sea views and some have private pools. The hill side area has Dee Plee a Thai restaurant that offers an overall view of the resort and a magnificent view of the area. The villas on the hill side area are oriented to look out to the sea.

On arrival we were welcomed with flowers and escorted on the buggy to the Lobby. The lobby overlooks the hillside pool with some view of the beach. The resort is very luscious with mature trees which make walking from one place to the other an experience that you can never get bored.
360 Virtual tour: Deluxe Pool Villa
Our villa was the deluxe pool villa on the hillside. The villa has an interesting design; just a few steps from the bed you can jump into the private pool. The oversized outdoor bathtub has a very unique form which makes having a bath more interesting. If you go out to the terrace you can see the sea view.
From exploring the resort we found an interesting place to spend the evening “Dee Plee”. The Thai restaurant that celebrity chef Pitak Srichan is in charge of. We met chef Pitak on many occasions since he was at the Four Season Bangkok, a bit later when he was at Four Season Chiang Mai, now in Phuket at Dee Plee. We tried chef Pitak’s set menu, 2,600 baht for 2 persons.
