District Grill Room & Bar is located on the 2nd floor of the Bangkok Marriott Sukhumvit near soi Thonglor. Upon entering the restaurant, the dark ambiance and well design lighting shout out the word “CLASS”. At the entrance there was a wine cellar, the bar and the lounge seats, further into the space was the open kitchen and dining area.

We were welcome by the restaurant manager khun Ninja, Our seat was by the windows with blinds that look out to the lobby below. From here we could see the kitchen with and open flames. For this meal we were prepared for the big tomahawk steak so we ordered something light for appetizers.

Amuse bouches roasted salmon with pear puree
District Caesar salad (450); a very unique presentation that show how fresh the roman lettuce was, once we were ready the staff will prepare and serve it to each person on the table. The generously shaven parmesan and crispy beacon added a new dimension to the already satisfying salad.
Seared wild Hokkaido scallops (730) were seared very nicely served with crisp potato cubes and green peas. A beautiful dish.
For the main course, the Tomahawk (4,500); a huge steak weighing at approximately 1.3 kg, the beef is grain-fed Diamantina black angus marble score 3, it was cooked just right as you can see from the charred crust but bloody inside. In preparing this; the chef use the high heat oven then finished on the grill with open flame.
The aroma was indescribably mouthwatering, the texture was not too tender but not too tough just right. The tomahawk can be served with two sides of your choice and 3 sauces; we went with the rocket salad, truffle potato fries, red wine reduction sauce, mushroom sauce and bearnaise sauce.
This steak can feed 3 people easily, our party was 3 and there were still some left to take home. If you come here for a steak which is a must I would recommend the truffle potato fries to go with it, it was very good.
The dessert was District Grill signature dish the District Sundae (450) comprise of four ice-cream; vanilla, chocolate, strawberry, raspberry sherbet, caramelized banana, chocolate cake, coconut glazed marshmallows, banana fritters and fresh berries. It was a big dessert; one that has many varieties textures and flavors which will satisfy any taste buds you can imagine.
The District Grill Room & Bar has very classy ambiance with high ceiling. Even with the tables filled, I would feel comfortable by the spacing of each table. The lighting was ideal; it was dark but lighting focuses on the table so you can see the food very clearly with that and the quality of food the chef create makes it very appealing.
