ETIHAD AIRWAYS BRINGS BRAND CAMPAIGN TO FACEBOOK
Etihad Airways, the national airline of the United Arab Emirates, is launching a Facebook application and competition which encourages fans to submit photos that replicate the theme of its global brand advertising campaign.
The new campaign – The World Is Our Home, You Are Our Guest – was launched on March 3, 2013 with the airing of a new television commercial in major markets, supported by print, digital and outdoor advertising.
To enter the Facebook competition, users must upload an image of themselves and their home city into the ‘Be My Guest’ competition tab to create a bespoke Facebook Timeline cover image.
The competition will see two Etihad Airways Facebook fans each win four Coral Economy class return tickets to anywhere on the airline’s global network.
The winner will be chosen from the top 10 entries as voted for by the airline’s Facebook community. The competition, which closes on April 30, 2013, can be entered at Etihad Airways’ English and Arabic Facebook pages.
Peter Baumgartner, Etihad Airways’ Chief Commercial Officer, said: “We received great feedback for our new brand advertising campaign, so we wanted to bring the campaign to our social media fans and get them involved with the Etihad brand in a fun, engaging way.”
