“GLITTERING WHITE” FESTIVE SEASON 2014 AT SOFITEL SO BANGKOK

Sofitel So Bangkok has unveiled a fabulous line-up of lunches, dinners, and countdown parties for the year-end festive season on Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year’s Eve, and New Year’s Day.

To celebrate of the holiday season, the hotel is decking the halls with “Glittering White”, a theme which promises dazzling revelry. Red Oven, The Water Club, Park Society and HI-SO Rooftop Bar will be specially decorated to complement menus inspired by the season to be jolly.

A series of 12 culinary events includes buffet lunches and dinners at Red Oven, degustation dinners at Park Society and The Water Club, and DJ countdown parties at The Water Club, Park Society Terrace and HI-SO Rooftop Bar.

“The holiday season is not only a reason for festivities, but also an important time when families and friends get together to look back on the year and onwards into the New Year. As such, we have specially designed a series of culinary events which provides opportunities for people to gather and share fine cuisine. Our regular Red Oven guests will notice that the spread will include many famous holiday flavors, such as turkey, mince pies, pigs in a blanket, trifles, eggnog ice cream, plus homemade mulled wine,” said Chidchanok Pasinpong, Wine & Dine Director of Sofitel So Bangkok.

Sofitel So Bangkok will inaugurate the holiday celebrations on Christmas Eve, with an international buffet dinner at Red Oven featuring traditional glühwein and Christmas carolers. The same night also sees Park Society put on a five-course degustation menu which showcases holiday classics presented exquisitely: cured salmon, seared scallops, pan-seared foie gras with orange glaze, roasted Tajima Wagyu beef tenderloin, and sticky ginger bread pudding.

The Christmas Eve program is replicated the day after on 25th December 2014 but with an additional buffet lunch at Red Oven on Christmas Day.

On New Year’s Eve, diners have a choice of three dinners, including one at Red Oven which will put on an impressive spread. Highlights include seafood on ice, a caviar corner, a sumptuous cheese corner, a carving station featuring Moroccan lamb shoulder, salmon, and foie gras, plus a dessert station featuring a chocolate fountain. For a last supper worthy of bidding 2014 farewell, Park Society will be offering a gold-inspired, six-course menu featuring chilled Canadian lobster, sea urchin custard, duck confit tortellini, pan-seared foie gras, Tajima Wagyu tenderloin, and a “Moon Shine” chocolate sphere, plus wine pairing options. A similar five-course offering poolside at The Water Club comes with a complimentary flute of Champagne, perfect to raise to the city which lays sprawled beneath.

Following dinner on 31st December 2014, guests can head to one of DJ parties at The Water Club or Park Society Terrace. Alternately, they can ascend to the rooftop at HI-SO for a cocktail party, where there will be canapés in the early evening, then free flow of wine, beer, and festive cocktails to ring in the new year.

On New Year’s Day, Red Oven will be hosting the first meal of 2015, with an extended brunch hour until 4 p.m. to give revelers a chance to ease gently into the New Year with a full delectable spread including various surf ‘n turf dishes, deli delights, salads, and desserts.

To spread the holiday cheer to those who won’t be able to join in person, Sofitel So Bangkok will also release two Chocolab Festive Hamper sets, available from 1st November 2014 to 1st January 2015.
