Grossi has a monthly wine diner event with an opera show. The June event started with a cocktail reception at the Balcony lounge of the Intercontinental Bangkok. After being seated and served sparkling wine (Nicholas François brut), three masked ladies walking into bar area along with it, powerful Soprano voices draw all the attention of the busy bar.
After the show, we went down to Grossi the Italian restaurant, one floor below. We were served a four course dinner with matching wines. After each course an opera entertained us all. The course started with Sautéed black mussels, black pepper, garlic and tomatoes which I couldn’t have enough of.
Sauvignon Blanc Les Jamelles was served with the first two courses
Spicy spaghetti, sardines, raisins, pine nuts, and dill was was an interesting combination of ingredients. The pine nuts gave this dish a cruchy texture while the raisins made it refreshing.
Grilled sword fish was very firm like pork but tasted sweet like fish served with salmoriglio sauce and caponata.
The Merlot Les Jamelles
Cannoli Alla Siciliana, the creamy filling of ricotta is very satisfying.
Price of the meal including wine and show is 2,499++ per person
