· Pink Ribbon Afternoon Tea at Lobby Lounge
Shangri-La Hotel, Bangkok is proud to be a part of October’s Breast Cancer Awareness Month with the Pink Ribbon Afternoon Tea Set at the Lobby Lounge from 1 – 31 October 2014 between 2 to 6 p.m. The special delicious treat is priced at Bt880++ per set and include one Get Pink Pin Card valued Bt500 for a discount on breast mammogram or ultrasound at 10 leading hospitals. Guests can celebrate all things pink with an inspiring afternoon tea, where 10 per cent of the Pink Ribbon Afternoon Tea set sales will benefit the Queen Sirikit Centre for Breast Cancer Foundation. Afternoon tea lovers can unwind with the finest river views in the spacious meeting place and savour rich and delicious savouries and desserts made freshly by the hotel’s Executive Pastry Chef Reinolf Moessl. Sweet treats on this special month include Cold Blueberry Cheese Cake, Passion Fruit Lollypop, Pink Opera Cake, Red Current Tart, Hazelnut Macaroon, Strawberry Scones with Preserved and Clotted Cream, Beetroot Smoked Salmon and Beetroot Bread Roll, Caviar and Dill Brie Cheese and Caramelised Onion and more, complemented with a selection of the finest tea
· Porcini Mushrooms at Angelini
During this Porcini season, Angelini brings you premium, imported Porcini mushrooms for a divine dining experience by our master Italian Chef Omar Ugoletti. The taste of porcini mushrooms is a true love at first bite. The earthy and nutty flavor melts in your mouth and lingers. Come savor the essence of Porcini mushrooms and you will forever be a devotee. Chef Omar’s creations include menus such as Thinly-sliced Porcini mushroom with ice cream of milk and Parmesan cheese, Pan-fried scallops with Porcini mushroom baby tubers, and Grilled beef tenderloin served with Porcini mushroom and polenta.
The Porcini Mushroom menu is available between 10 to 31 October on a nightly basis, except Sundays. The items range Bt 600++ to Bt1,500++ per dish.
· Phuket Lobster Royale at Salathip
Salathip Thai Restaurant at Shangri-La Hotel, Bangkok introduces Phuket Lobster, Thailand’s King of Seafood, with a six-course dinner set menu for Bt2,200++ per set from 1-31 October 2014.
The menu highlights the rich texture of Phuket Lobster and the right amount of Thai herbs, which is elaborately crafted by the restaurant’s Chef de Cuisine, Chef Tussanee Putkaew. Thai favourite dishes include Mee Krob (Crispy Sweet and Sour Rice Noodles with Shrimps), Pla Nuea Poo (Spicy Crab Meat Salad with Thai herbs), and Tom Kha Gai (Hot and Sour Coconut Milk Chicken Soup with Lemongrass). Diners can enjoy the main course with their choice of Lobster preparation from Chu Chee (Stir-Fried with Dry Red Curry), to Priew Waan (Deep-Fried with Sweet and Sour Sauce), and Phad Char (Stir-Fried with Sweet Basil, Lemongrass, Young Ginger and Chilli), then end this elegant Thai set menu with Passion Fruit Sorbet. Thai classical dance performances will make the dinner in this riverside restaurant a more appetizing experience.
· Oktoberfest aboard the Horizon Cruise
From 10 – 19 October 2014, diners can put on their lederhosen and join us in celebrating the Oktoberfest in style on board Shangri-La Hotel, Bangkok’s Horizon Cruise. In addition to a great choice of international buffet, guests can enjoy traditional German delicacies, including veal and pork sausages with Bavarian mustard, pretzels, pork shanks, krauts and beers. The buffet dinner with free-flowing Paulaner beer, soft drinks and wines is priced at Bt2,688 net per person. The magic of Bangkok by night with a fun Oktoberfest dinner starts from 7:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. nightly, except Monday and Tuesday.
