SHANGRI-LA HOTEL, BANGKOK INTRODUCES “KHUN YAI AFTERNOON TEA”

The Lobby Lounge at Shangri-La Hotel, Bangkokintroduces the “Khun Yai (Grandma) Afternoon Tea” every Monday to Saturday between 2 to 6 p.m. from now until  30 November 2012. The Khun Yai Afternoon Tea costs 650++ baht and includes a choice of Thai herbal drink

Inspired by traditional Thai savouries, the afternoon tea with a Thai twist offers a series of sweet and savoury Thai snacks from grandma’s recipes, including Thung Thong (crispy tartlet with vegetables and pork), Moo Yang Bai Cha Plu Leaf (pork wrapped with Cha Plu leaf), Thord Mun Pla (Thai fish cake), Mieng Kham (traditional Thai appetiser), Kai Hor Bai Toey (fried chicken wrapped in pandanus leaf), complemented with assorted seasonal fresh fruit and Thai sweets such as Look Choop (Thai marzipan), and Kanom Ta-ko (Thai pudding with coconut topping).  Guests can indulge in the Khun Yai Afternoon Tea with a choice of beverage, which includes Thai iced tea, Pandanus leaf juice, Butterfly pea flower iced tea, or lemongrass tea.

Price is in Thai baht and is subject to 17.7% service charge and tax.
