SHANGRI-LA HOTEL, BANGKOK’S SHANG PALACE PRESENTS AUSPICIOUS DISHES TO CELEBRATE THE YEAR OF THE SNAKE

Shangri-La Hotel,Bangkokcelebrates the start of the Year of the Snake with a host of auspicious Chinese dishes atShangPalacefrom 9 to16 February 2013.  Guests can indulge their senses with a set menu and Chinese New Year à la carte dishes.

Families are invited to come together for annual gatherings atShangPalace, where Hong Kong Master Chef Jacky Chan and his team creatively incorporate quality imported and local ingredients into auspicious dishes. The traditional dishes are made from ingredients that are believed to bring good fortune, happiness, wealth and longevity for everyone, such as prawns, dried oysters, fish and angel hair-like seaweed.

The Wealth menu is priced at 22,888 baht and the Gold menu is priced at 26,888 baht.  Both set menus are available for tables of 10 guests and prices are subject to 17.7 per cent service charge and tax.

A special à la carte menu is also available during the Chinese New Year period.  Guests celebrating atShangPalacewill also receive “lucky money” in red packets.

To bestow auspicious good fortune on the Chinese New Year, a traditional lion dance ceremony is scheduled onSunday, 10 February 2013at10:30 a.m.at the main entrance of the hotel’s Shangri-La Wing.
