10th Anniversary Metropolitan by COMO, Bangkok

| October 10, 2013

Metropolitan by COMO, Bangkok celebrates its tenth anniversary with an exclusive auction of ten uniquely curated experiences.

Experiences will capture the spirit of Metropolitan Bangkok–from private parties in your own suite, to radiance-boosting wellness packages and mixology sessions at the Met Bar–while raising funds for Pattanarak Foundationto help support Thai flood victims.

Metropolitan by COMO, Bangkok this year celebrates its tenth anniversary as the city’s leading luxury hotel. To mark the occasion Metropolitan is launching ‘The Metropolitan 10’ – an online charity auction for 10 exclusive Metropolitan experiences. Starting October 7th, 2013, two experiences will go under the hammer each fortnight for 10 weeks, with the highest bids winning.

Some of the Metropolitan 10 lots include once-in-a-lifetime experiences, such as a lavish private party in a Metropolitan Penthouse Suite for 20 of your closest friends, or a day’s shopping for designer clothes in the Siam Discovery Mall followed by drinks at the Met Bar. There are experiences for all the family, a gourmet experience including dinner at nahm, a combined beach and city break in partnership with Point Yamu by COMO, Phuket and perhaps the most exciting of all – a Penthouse Suite to call your own for ten nights, to be taken throughout the year.

Ten per cent of all the proceeds raised will support Pattanarak Foundation, which helps disadvantaged populations near Thailand’s national borders. Funds from the Metropolitan 10 will directly support rebuilding efforts in Sangkhlaburi, after flooding this year leveled its agricultural resource centre. Rebuilding and flood-proofing the centre is expected to cost in the region of US$20,000.

Mr Seri Thongmak, Founder and Executive Director, Pattanarak Foundation said, “The Pattanarak Foundation works with disadvantaged populations facing food insecurity, lack of health information and services, stigma and discrimination as a result of their marginal status. Metropolitan by COMO, Bangkok is a long term partner that not only cares in our beneficiaries’ lives, but also for Pattanarak as an organisation during challenging times such as these.”

Jorge Monje, General Manager at Metropolitan, Bangkok, added, “Metropolitan Bangkok has a strong history of working with our community, such as the incredibly successful fundraiser for UNICEF by our chefs Neil Perry, David Thompson and Jean-Georges Vongerichten in 2005. We’ve worked with Pattanarak for nine years, partnering with them on many areas of social enterprise and development and we are thrilled to be supporting them on this very special anniversary – all bids will contribute to vital rebuilding work for those who most need our support.”
