From Rama4 near Suan Lumpinee area looking towards the Ratchadamri area, one of the building that stands out is Anantara Baan Rajprasong. What stands out is the white exposed columns and curved beams standing at 34 story’s high. It is surprising that Anantara a luxury Resort chain is operating this city hotel/service apartment/condominium.

The circular shape building forms a courtyard where the pool is

At the arrival, three charming receptionist welcomed us. The check-in was a breeze. The receptionist guided us to our room on the 7th floor and introduce what the room was equipped with. We were served the welcome fruit tray and drinks at the room. All the room here are suites, one bed room and two bed room. We had the one bed room suite which was bright and airy apartment like unit. There is a LCD tv in both the bed room and living room and a DVD/cd player. Also there is a kitchen, stove top, microwave, toaster, with pots, pans, dishes, forks and spoons. It is quite adequate to cook a decent meal here, when Villa Supermarket is just a short walk away. The building is a circular shape which makes the room shape irregular but at an advantage. It makes the windows wider, being able take more of the wonderful views of ratchadamri road. As it is a circular shape and it is surrounded by other residential buildings some rooms might not have full exposure of the view. But most of the room will have nice views because it is oriented to look out towards the american embassy.
The lighting of the space is really nice, it makes the people in it look good. Well, the room occupies a lot of white finishings the floor the walls and the ceiling which can act as reflectors, so when there are wrinkles on the face it is hard to spot them with light source coming from every where. Instantly you look younger and the skin is more brighter, it is the same technique when shooting portraits.

On our way down the glass elevator the pool was just luring the kids to take a dip. It is a large roof top pool with waterfalls and jacuzzi. The jacuzzi has really high pressure jets. In the afternoon it is pretty much shaded by mature trees and the building. If you need some tan there is another level that has benches and gazebos with garden and water features. With more benches on the same level with the pool, this would have been a perfect roof top pool. This is more of a service apartment than a resort, but the staffs are welcoming and ready to serve.
