The problems that occur at the 3 border provinces in the south cause fear and anxiety everywhere even in the children’s space such as playgrounds. Nuratna Hawae, a young aspiring printmaker uses playground and its playthings as the main setting and objects respectively for her artworks. These symbols of children’s imagination and livelihood are distorted to become the stronghold of violence in which effects children’s sub-consciousness and yet again scare them away from the place where they should be happy and carefree. The Axe Handle by Nuratna Hawae presents a series of woodcut prints that focus on the emotional level and insecurity among children in the south of Thailand.

OPEN : Tuesday-Saturday: 10:30~19:00 hrs., Sunday: 10:30~17:30 hrs. (Closed on Monday)
