Bangkok Marriott Hotel The Surawongse celebrates its first anniversary following 12 months of impressive achievements, awards and outstanding guest experiences.

This stylish new five-star hotel, opened its doors in April 2018, rising dramatically from the vibrant streets of Surawong Road in the heart of Bangkok. The unique charm that weaves into the captivating contemporary lifestyle makes Surawongse an area of rich heritage and a new destination that attracts visitors from all over the world. The hotel offers elevated experiences to creative minds, explorers and travelers from Thailand and beyond. Guests are guaranteed to experience premium services with unique touch of Timeless Thai hospitality.

Just only 8 weeks after its grand opening, this new urban landmark rose to the number one spot on TripAdvisor, the world’s largest inline travel platform, reflecting the unparalleled quality of its guest services and world-class facilities. The hotel still holds number 1 on TripAdvisor rating of five bubbles, and 98 percent of guests who reviewed the hotel said they would recommend it.

The strength of the hotel’s people-focused approach is reflected by the fact that Bangkok Marriott Hotel The Surawongse was named as “Thailand’s Best Employer 2019” at the Employer Branding Awards. This prestigious accolade is an unprecedented achievement for such a new hotel.

Bangkok Marriott Hotel The Surawongse has also made a significant impact on its local community, in line with Marriott International’s “Spirit to Serve Our Communities” initiative. The hotel supports several highly worthwhile causes; for example, the team visited and hosted a lunch for children at the Rajvithi Home for Girls, which works to prevent the trafficking of women and children. The hotel also took part in “Run to Give 2018” in aid of the Siriraj Foundation, which helped to raise funds for a new public healthcare facility in Bangkok.

The first 12 months have been highlighted by several important events. As part of its official partnership with Fox Networks Group Asia, Bangkok Marriott Hotel The Surawongse has been featured in 4 episodes, including the opening scene and the season finale show of Asia’s Next Top Model Season 6. A “Wednesday Models Night” was also broadcast live by Fox Thailand from the hotel’s Yào Rooftop Bar throughout the 10 weeks of filming.

Many magical memories have also been created at the hotel, including glittering weddings, social soirées and one-of-a-kind events. With an impressive collection of conference and banqueting spaces, including two glamorous ballrooms and a spectacular rooftop terrace, the hotel has successfully hosted over 300 events, including birthday parties, anniversary celebrations, business meetings and of course, wonderful weddings. With The Garden at Surawongse, the new courtyard with multi-level spaces, the hotel moves beyond the four walls of a traditional ballroom and broaden the perspective of MICE venues.

“We could not have wished for a better first year. These 12 months have been hugely rewarding for everyone associated with hotel; our achievements, accomplishments and awards show what an amazing impact we have had on the city. Rising to the top of TripAdvisor and winning the “Thailand’s Best Employer” award were notable highlights, but we take the most pride in seeing the smiles on the faces of our guests and delivering exceptional experiences. We look forward to continuing our success for many more years to come,” said George Varughese, General Manager of Bangkok Marriott Hotel The Surawongse.

Bangkok Marriott Hotel The Surawongse will officially celebrate its first anniversary by hosting The Surawongse Festival on 6-7 April 2019.
