Going to a brunch is something I’m very familiar with, until I went to the Champagne Surf and Turf Brunch at Centara Grand at CentralWorld.
From the department store of Central World, we took the elevator to the 23rd floor to the lobby of the Centara Grand. It was a quiet Sunday not much people. Took another elevator to the 55th floor, where the brunch is held. Down the curved staircase one side curtain glass wall that looks out to Bangkok skyline the other side an elliptical glass wine cellar. We were directed to our table by the beautiful host. Apart from the bright day light from the glass wall, I notice a big table with a whole lot of seafood.
After being seated, the restaurant manager khun Theerawich, poured champagne in our glass. The bubble in the glass floats and pop continuously, with this kind of light everything looks so clear. Khun Uten pushed a trolley to our table; he asked if we’d like some mussels. “Yes please, just a little”. He then started cooking the mussels with white wine at our table.
We said yes to trolleys after trolleys. Here are some of them.
Smoke slamon
Foie Gras terrine
Then it was time to check out the table full of seafood. The first thing that caught my eye was the lobster sashimi.

The lobsters were alive, the texture of the lobster meat had a little crunch with an hint of sweetnes of the sea.

Fin de claire oysters

More lobsters and seafood.

Dungenous crab, alaskan king crab, crayfish, scampi
The dungenous crab was very large and had a lot of meat. It was very easy to extract the meat from the shell. The alaskan king crab also had alot of meat. It had a very sweet and salty taste.

More wine.
Prime Rib with a peper crust. It was perpare very nicely. The juices was contained in the meat.

Austrailian lamb rack

Apart from the trolleys and buffet stations, items can be ordered from the menu.

Seafood Gratin

Bacon wrapped Hokkaido scallops.

Charcoal grilled Wagyu sirloin, it had a 4 marble score. For dessert I had a berry jelly cheese cake with ice cream and some fresh berries.

It is really hard to say where is the best Sunday brunch in Bangkok, every place is very competitive. But after coming here, it is easy to say that this is it. Not that it had many items to offer but the quality of each items were top notch. And the service was impeccable. The Surf and Turf Brunch is available only on the 1st and 3rd Sundays at 2,955++ per person. Reservations highly recommended. For more information call Tel. 02-100-6255.
