First Hotel in Thailand to Offer Butler Service for All Guests
Renowned Butler Service Carried On Century-Old Tradition of The
St. Regis New York

Bangkok, Thailand (July 01, 2011) – The St. Regis Bangkok is pleased to announce that it is offering the brand’s legendary butler service to all guests – a first for a five-star Bangkok hotel – when it made its debut on April 1, 2011.  As the first St. Regis in Thailand – a country known for its commitment to excellent service – The St. Regis Bangkok will set a new standard for luxury, bespoke service and sophistication.
 

Over a century ago, when John Jacob Astor IV founded the flagship St. Regis in New York City, his vision was “to make The St. Regis the finest hotel in the world.”  He redefined personal service with the introduction of the St. Regis Butler, and set an industry standard. By offering the bespoke butler service to all hotel guests, The St. Regis Bangkok is elevating Thailand’s high standards of service to a new, white-gloved level of luxury for the worldly travelers.  The butler team at The St. Regis Bangkok will be led by Director of Guest Services Atsushi Katagiri, the master butler trainer for St. Regis and former chief butler from the St. Regis Osaka.

All St. Regis butlers are trained in the English tradition of service; at the ready to cater to individual requests, no matter how great or small at any hour of the night. St. Regis butlers provide flawless, personalized attention to each guest, and they are the one point of contact for the guest – answering all of their questions and meeting all of their needs.  From arrival to departure, the St. Regis Butler service includes unpacking and pressing, beverage service, shoeshine arrangements, dining reservations, daily itineraries and destination reservations, and packing services.  With an ever-present yet discreet manner, St. Regis butlers share an innate ability to anticipate guest and resident needs, tastes and preferences.

The St. Regis Bangkok features an international team of butlers representing Thailand, India, Japan and others.  Butlers at The St. Regis Bangkok have undergone extensive training in providing the bespoke, white glove service that is synonymous with the brand and are also required to pass an extensive training session in order to be qualified as a butler at the hotel.
