Phuket, Thailand - January 2008 – Following the success of “the Clean Beach White Sand” project, Mai Khao Marine Turtle Foundation has launched six new environmental projects to show its commitment to the environment.
This year the Foundation in conjunction with JW Marriott Phuket Resort & Spa and Phuket Rajabhat University launches its “Environmental Awareness and Solutions Project” which will take place every two months starting in January. The events comprise of education and practice in form of school workshops, environmental management projects and action clean ups.
The Foundation’s events for 2008 are as follows:
January Rubbish Management Workshop
Mai Khao Beach and Reef clean up
March Turtle Fun Run and Educational Day
May Tree Planting Project – Mai Khao area
July Managing Our Beach Environment Workshop
September Earth Hour – Save Energy for Just One Hour
November Managing Our Community Environment Workshop
