The Peninsula Bangkok

To welcome the Year of the Rat, The Peninsula Bangkok’s award winning restaurant, Mei Jiang offers traditional Cantonese festive delicacies. Two auspicious set menus and à la carte Chinese New Year specialities are available for lunch and dinner with traditional candied fruits and Lai See or “lucky monkey” as gifts.

Chef Jacky Ho, Executive Chinese Chef of The Peninsula’s Mei Jiang restaurant and his team have drawn on their unrivalled knowledge and skills in the complex world of authentic Cantonese cuisine to create a range of special menus for the Chinese New Year.

People born in the Year of the Rat (1912, 1924, 1936, 1948, 1960, 1972, 1984 and 1996) are noted for their charm and attraction to the opposite gender. They work hard to achieve their goals, acquire possessions, and are likely to be perfectionists. They are basically thrifty with money. Rat people are easily angered and love to gossip. Their ambitions are big, and they are usually very successful. They are most compatible with people born in the years of the Dragon, Monkey, and Ox.

Delicious home-made Chinese New Year puddings, turnip puddings and tailor-made hampers are also available during the same period at The Peninsula Boutique (Garden Level) and The Peninsula Boutique & Café at Siam Paragon (Main Level, Crystal Court). Prices are subject to 10% service charge and applicable government tax.
