Celebrity jazz vocalist Victoria Horne marks her debut visit to Thailand with an exclusive 3 month performance at Mandarin Oriental, Bangkok’s legendary The Bamboo Bar from March 1 to June 30, 2009.
Her childhood in Harlem, New York coupled with her mother’s passion for blues and jazz music was a great influence on Victoria’s musical education. She soon became intimate with the sounds of notable individuals including Billy Holiday, Sarah Vaughn and Dinah Washington, and these songs inspired her to pursue a career in the music industry.
She is now an international entertainer and is known worldwide for her sultry vocals and personal renditions of classic jazz pieces. Victoria recently performed the national anthem Amazing Grace at the NFL World Bowl held in Frankfurt, Germany.
She has also collaborated musically with Bob Dylan in his music video “Tight Connection to My Heart”, and also joined Joe Turner in Paris for his “Live in Concert” tour.
Other artists who have shared the spotlight with her are Belgium pianist Renaud Patigny and his band who performed together at the Festival International de Boogie Woogie de Roquebrou in Belgium. Their partnership created the internationally acclaimed blues single “Let it roll”.
Known worldwide as J. J. Victoria on popular musical recordings, she has recorded songs such as “I Love You So Caruso…” with Orlando Productions in France, and “I’ve Got Something” with Frence Film Jet. Both songs are a testimony to Victoria’s international recognition and continue be sold and distributed online.
