The Conrad Bangkok

Drinking Tea Eating Rice, Japanese Restaurant at The Conrad Bangkok, welcomes a Japanese Guest Chef Ricky Kusuo Kamiishi from Malaysia to demonstrate his authentic Japanese Cuisine, from 26th March – 5th April, 2009.

Drawing on two decades of experience in preparing traditional Japanese Cuisine (and a regular participant in the festival), Chef Ricky Kamiishi cites some of his inspirations as seasonal ingredients—such as seafood and vegetables—from his home country. Chef Ricky imports seafood and other fresh ingredients of the highest quality straight from Japan. His culinary style highlights the freshness and quality of the ingredients he uses, allowing their natural flavours and textures to take centre stage.

A serious Japanese Chef with an intense passion for his culinary craft. Ricky Kamiishi, is the Executive Japanese Chef of Iketeru, Hilton Kuala Lumpur’s Japanese Restaurant. Iketeru has grown to become a gem of a Japanese restaurant that rivals the town’s best Japanese restaurants thanks to the genius of Chef Ricky-san.

Chef Ricky’s recommended menu:

 WAGYU WAFU STEAK - Pan Fried Wagyu Sirloin with Teriyaki Sauce
 SAKURADAI USUZUKURI - Thinly Sliced Sakura Sea Bream
 SAKURA MASU MISO BUTTER YAKI - Teppanyaki Grilled Sakura Trout with Miso Butter sauce
 AIGAMO ROSUNI - Simmered Duck Brest Meat in Sweet Soy Sauce
