Jordi Conesa Corporate Chef
Majestic Hotel Group, Barcelona, Spain
Chef Jordi Conesa holds a professional kitchen degree from Academia Bell – Art Barcelona, Spain. He started as Cook in 1989 working in Rias de Galicia restaurant in Barcelona. After four years gaining experience in several restaurants in Spain, he entered the world of hospitality in 1994 by joining the five-star Ritz Carlton Hotel in Barcelona as Sous Chef responsible for California cuisine. In 1999, he became Executive Chef at Hotel Mallorca Marriott Gold Resort & Spa, a five-star resort on Mallorca Island in Spain. During his culinary profession, he has worked with many prestigious hotels and resorts throughout Spain. His solid experience in Spanish cuisine as well as others has brought him extraordinary talent in cooking and food presentation. He has often been invited as guest chef for Spanish cuisine festival held in many well-known restaurants and hotels around the globe including Shangri-la Bangkok and Beijing, The Ritz Carlton Osaka, and Le café de Paris. His guests include world-famous celebrities and dignitaries such as HRH Princess Cristina de Borbon (Princess of Spain), George Clooney, Beyonce, the Rolling Stones and the Dalai Lama.

He is currently working as Corporate Chef for the Majestic Hotel Group in Barcelona taking up role as Head Chef supervising kitchen operation for all hotels in the group.

During 9th–18th July, spice up your dining experience at a-two-week-long fiesta, “A Taste of Spain” featuring Spanish Guest Chef Jordi Conesa from Barcelona, a Spanish cooking class, a Spanish wine tasting, a Catalonian set dinner with wines, a photo exhibition featuring Spanish photographer, and of course Spanish art, Flamenco dance and Spanish guitars at Grand Millennium Sukhumvit. Spanish cuisine consists of a variety of dishes which stem from differences in geographical culture and climate. It is heavily influenced by seafood available from the waters that surround the country with three shores, and reflects the country’s deep maritime roots. Spain’s extensive history with many cultural influences has led to an array of unique cuisines with literally thousands of recipes and flavors. Discover a true taste of Spain through the culinary showcase by our Spanish Guest Chef from Barcelona, “Jordi Conesa,” the Corporate Chef for the award-winning Majestic Hotel Group and the star at this festival. Talented Chef Conesa has more than 20 years of experience working in prestigious restaurants and hotels throughout Spain. Spanish Wine & Cheese Tasting (14th July 2009)

Spain is a world class producer of wines, both in quality and quantity. On July 14, a Spanish boutique wine & cheese tasting, co-hosted with “fin”- fabulous is needed, will be held at Tapas Y Vino. Enjoy an array of exquisite Spanish wines accompanied by a selection of import cheeses from 17.00 – 19.00 hrs, priced at Baht 600++ per person.

A Taste of Cataluña (16th July 2009)
Terra Roku, 6th Floor
Take pleasure in an exclusive 5-course Spanish set dinner featuring “Cataluña” cuisine creatively prepared by our talented Guest Chef Jordi Conesa from the Catalonian capital Barcelona at Terra Roku. Be entertained by Spanish guitarist while enjoying a culinary delight, starting from Baht 1,900 net per person and available from 18.00 – 22.00 hrs.

Photo Exhibition by “Xavier Comas” (1st – 31st July 2009)

Xavier Comas is a Spanish-born photographer whose work has appeared on many covers published internationally. After embarking on an adventurous solo journey to the Asia-Pacific in 2002, the experience has become a catalyst of his passion for travel and life immersion. At this exhibition, Comas will show two bodies of his work, Pasajero capturing his entire journey to Tokyo and Jiutamai portraying Shirabyoshi’s (or Japanese refined female dancer) passion and distress expressed on a sensual and symbolic way. All photographs are available for sale.
