In his new exhibition, internationally acclaimed fine-art photographer Boaz Zippor is taking a small detour from his signature style old school photography, and dives into brave attempts of synthesis between his style and computer manipulated digital art.
Following the line he started in 2008, Zippor's subjects of the photography are mostly dancers, acrobats and actors, and the art work manages to capture the essence of these photo shoots, as if the photos themselves were a performance piece frozen in time.
Although the works seem surreal and completely artificial, in a strange organic way, displaying double exposed bodies with no apparent heads, and some with too many heads or other limbs, Zippor managed to keep his famous sense of an almost tactile feel of the images, which works perfectly as a counterweight to the bizarre compositions and content matter.
“These days the borders between the different art fields are so vague that it is almost not fun to break through them anymore "Zippor laughs, " but I really don’t put too much thought into it. If I see a tool I can use to create something I feel is right, then it really doesn’t matter if it’s a camera, a pencil or a computer"
