CELEBRATE LOY KRATHONG AT THE PENINSULA BANGKOK

The Peninsula Bangkok is delighted to celebrate one of Thailand’s most famous traditions, the Loy Krathong festival, on 21 November 2010. Loy Krathong is one of the most popular events in the Thai calendar and originated historically when Thai people offered thanks to the Goddess of Water by floating their Krathongs - delicately crafted floats made of lotus or banana leaves, a candle and incense sticks - on the river to wash away all bad luck and misfortune, and make wishes for good luck in the future.

The Peninsula Bangkok is proud to present a Loy Krathong Festival along the banks of the Chao Phraya River – one of the most popular locations in Bangkok to celebrate Loy Krathong. Guests will enjoy an evening filled with classical Thai entertainment and dances, Krathongs to be set afloat on the water by each guest, stunning fireworks and performances of the award-winning traditional Thai puppet shows from the Joe Louis Theatre, all accompanied by superb dining.
