Located on the 22nd floor of the Dusit Thani Bangkok, at D’Sens, customers will not only experience superior contemporary French cuisine and five-star service, but will also witness one of the best views over the Lumphini Park in the center of Bangkok. Although D’Sens is not located in one of the highest building in Bangkok, the view from here is second to none. Especially at night, the lights from the skyscrapers in the city of angels reveal why Bangkok is one of the most beautiful city in the world.
Imaad Rahmouni, the designer of D’Sens decorated the restaurant in contemporary but elegant style. He intended for the lighting in D’Sens not to be too bright so customers can enjoy the views outside without any reflections on the windows. Another eye catching corner here is the aquarium bar where cute colorful fish are constantly chasing one another.
On that night the appetizer was butternut squash, which was rather odd for Thais but fairly common for Europeans and Americans. Serving on a big round white plate helps enhance the appearance of the dish that it was almost too beautiful too eat (just almost). The butternut was fork tender and fits very well with the aromatic truffle foam and crispy hazelnut bread. D’Sens serves a complementary Amuse Bouche (for cleaning your pallet) between every dish for a true French cuisine experience.
For the main course, grilled lamb chops served with pink corn, shallots and tomatoes in a puff pastry was very pleasant. Medium rare chops with a bit of charred on the edge but rare in the middle were very tender and perfect for my taste. The side of pickled artichokes is many people’s favorite because it helps enhance the flavor of lamb. Chocolate soufflé served with vanilla ice cream was the perfect ending of this meal. After trying one of the desserts here you might want to order the second.

Appetizer
* Seared duck liver and crispy ginger bread, thin slices of peach, spicy red wine emulsion and aniseed duck juice (1,350++)
* Salmon trio, raw and smoked like a tartar, Oscietra caviar, and a thin chunk quickly seared “À la Plancha” accompanied by a sweet mustard dressing and dill (1,100++)
Main course
* Lobster from Maine roasted « à la plancha », caramelized turnips with black olives jam, and a semolina roll flavoured with spices (half lobster 1,325++, whole lobster 2,500++)
* Roasted rack of lamb served off the bone, covered with a thin crust of breadcrumbs, Herbs and olives, lamb shoulder "samoussa" and aniseed lemon juice (1,600++)
* Veal filet filled with chanterelles, green asparagus and glazed carrot served with fresh herbs and a veal juice flavored with lobster caramel (1,350++)
* Roasted Mediterranean Sea bass filet, Swiss chards and celery cannellonis, pan fried chanterelles, and truffled roasted juice with a butter emulsion (1,600++)
Dessert
* Bitter chocolate soufflé, Bourbon vanilla seed ice cream and lukewarm ganache (390++)
* Caramelized pineapple raviolis with red berry mousse and a crispy cone with a chocolate - wasabi emulsion. (360++)
