A spacious floor plan of the buffet, a beautiful and creative display of the food, a lively jazz beat with comfortable seats, and most importantly, delicious food from prepared with the best ingredient are the keys to success of the Sheraton Grande Sukhumvitís popular Sunday jazzy brunch. For families that have young children they have a banquet room with activities for kids. so you can enjoy the day with out worrying about them too much. The quality and the variety of cuisine here is second to none, while its spacious and attractive ambience are the qualities that customers always value for their perfect Sunday with their family. With an affordable price of 1,600 ++ bht., Sunday feast here keeps people coming back again and again. The advantage of Sunday brunch here is alcoholic beverage is optional, so families with kids or non-alcoholic drinkers do not have to pay extra. However, for those who loves drinking, free flow full bar cost only 600++bht.
Three outlets host the Sunday Brunch (the Living Room, Rossiniís, Basil) but the most popular spot for jazz lover is the Living Room, with a live jazz band and huge windows overlooking the bustling Sukhumvit road. On that day, however, I was sitting in Rossiniís, the hotelís renowned Italian cuisine outlet. Being a big fan of pasta, I was impressed with the live pasta bar that can make virtually anything you ever wanted in a pasta shop in Italy. The chef was especially friendly and suggested a couple of pasta dishes I really liked. I started with seafood linguini in basil pesto sauce, which was delightful because the sauce did not overpower the freshness of the shrimp, squid and mussel. The next one I asked the chef to create something with cream sauce and anchovy for me, so he cooked up chicken tortellini in cream and anchovy for me. I was not sure if cream will go well with anchovy but I was pleasantly surprised after the first bite that I finished it. Besides various pasta dishes, a must try at the pasta bar is the delicious and addictive seared duck liver (foie gras) served with balsamic reduction.
Although I was stuck in a pasta world for most of the meal, I reminded myself to explore the hotelís huge selection of beautiful food display outside Rossini. As always, what intrigued me most is the fresh seafood such as sumptuous crabs, shrimp, rock lobster,etc. Both grilled and roasted lamb chops with mint sauce are equally delicious, while the beef prime rib with horseradish cream is tender and delightful.
As always, don’t forget to keep a lot of room for desserts here. The really long display of desserts made me perplexed and indecisive but what ever I tried I ended up happy but guilty. My personal favorites are the chocolate fountain with dried fruits, tiramisu, crepe suzette, and chocolate truffles. A variety of Thai desserts like the famous mango and sticky rice are also available. Assortments of ice cream served in a homemade waffle bowl and your choice of toppings make a lot of kids happy. To end a perfect meal I always enjoy a nice coffee, all the usual are offered but if you want something special try the Irish cream, hot coffee with liquor, top with thick cream serve on a glass with burnt sugar coated on the rim.
