U Chiang Mai is a 4-star hotel located at the heart of Chiang Mai city on Rajdamnoen road, opposite to Wat Chedi Luang. Its tall white wall with the front terrace looks simple but stands out from nearby buildings. The entrance is the old style Thai architecture adapted from the former Chiang Mai Governor's residence as the lobby area. The three-rai area is well arranged, giving a surprising spacious space to this 3-level hotel. The hotel provides you two room types: superior and deluxe. One of the most interesting thing about room types are the 5 units pool access of superior rooms with no extra charges. The reservation prior to arrival is what you need for this. Every guest room is decorated exquisitely in black, purple, and earth-tone color creating an interesting color combination.
Here you will be accommodated with all kinds of facilities and impressive services up to the guests' choice: you can check-out the same time you check in, not the normal 12pm check out time. Also breakfast anywhere at anytime incase you get up late in the afternoon, you can still have breakfest. Before the arrival, you can make the selection from pillows, tea, soap, or in-room iPod music to the DVD choices. Fitness and free bike is available during your stay in the hotel. All these services are inclusive in the room rate. Other than that the staffs are nice with smiling faces.
For tourists preferring to walk or bicycling around the innercity area, U Chiang Mai can be your perfect choice because it sets nearby a lot of city attractions such as Wat Chedi Luang, Wat Phra Singha and many temples in Chiang Mai canal enclosure area.

The hotel restaurant offers interesting menu of combinding local and western food, such as Fettucini Alfredo Sauce with Chiang Mai sausage "Sai-Uaa" or something unusual offered for breakfest like red sticky rice with Chiang Mai sausage .

What's interesting about the new U hotel group are the little differences they try to make. We will look forward to see more U's in Bangkok and other cities in the near future.
