Bangkok (27 September 2008) – Heineken, the world’s number one international premium beer, today will hold its GreenSpace ‘music beyond borders’ concert fusing the talents of international and Thai bands at 18th floor Zen World Tower @CentralWorld.

International bands from New York (Aluminum Babe), London (Some Velvet Morning) and Tokyo (Osaka Monaurail) will pair up and perform ‘live in concert’ with Thailand’s home-grown talents namely Slot Machine, Moderndog featuring Noi and Apartment Khun Pa for the very first time.

The three international bands were specially selected and invited by Heineken GreenSpace’s music director Jay Montonn Jira. He travelled to these cities and connected with the bands using the ‘6 degree of separation theory’.
For garage rock, Jay has chosen Aluminum Babe who has a loyal following in New York and in Europe. Thanks to their upbeat live performances, original sound and high-pitch vocals of Swedish-born lead singer Anna Liedberg, Aluminum Babe has been kept busy on the road both in Europe and America. At the GreenSpace concert, they will perform and thrill fans with Slot Machine, the local rock band famous for its intense music and beautiful lyrics.

Jamming pop rock, Jay has settled on London-based trio Some Velvet Morning who will get on stage with modern-time rock legend Moderndog featuring Noi. Some Velvet Morning made their mark with heavy, expressive musical sound with songs on various thought-provoking subjects, drawing attention of contemporary listeners to current developments in the world.
Displaying their talent in funk jazz from Japan is Osaka Monaurail, a funk band charmed and influenced by James Brown, the Godfather of Funk. Osaka Monaurail has also toured Europe and Japan with Marva Whitney, the First Lady of Funk. They will perform with Apartment Khun Pa, a local band with unique live performances and a mix of music styles.

Mr. Nipol Swadipongpan, Heineken’s Marketing Manager, said, “Following this exclusive rock concert in Bangkok, the next GreenSpace ‘music beyond borders’ concert scheduled at the end of this year will feature a mood, tone, and ambience that fans can expect to get only from Heineken.”
Music lovers are invited to register as members of i-greenspace (www.i-greenspace.com), the latest social networking community of trendy people who are in tune with everything fashionable. Once they are in, they will discover the unexpected joys of expanding their circle of friends and sharing their inspiration in music, both in the physical world such as this GreenSpace party as well as connecting with them online in the digital world.

The main inspiration behind the i-greenspace campaign is the ‘6 degrees of separation’ theory which postulates that anyone on this planet can be connected to any other person through a chain of acquaintances that has no more than five intermediaries. With the ‘6 degrees’ theory, the aim is to let members discover the campaign idea of “discover the unexpected….just 6 steps away. This idea will be featured through the i-greenspace’s website, mobile technology applications, concerts and parties.

The Heineken GreenSpace social networking campaign is expected to boost Heineken’s overall brand ratings and reinforce its ‘dynamic and innovative’ image.
