It's been a long time since we last visited the Devarana spa at the Dusit Thani. The place has not changed as its divine concept is presented perfectly with elements of its decoration. The stairway leading to the spa lounge somehow makes you feel you're led to a different world. The spa lounge is what it makes the place heavenly from its bright lighting with simple white tone decor. What you'll notice is the pointed arch shape decoration used all over the place from the little ornaments to the carved walls.
After stepping into this earthy paradise, we were greeted by the smiling staffs who took good care of customers as if we're angels. After relaxing and sipping the drink at the lobby, our therapists came to greet and guided us to the treatment room. The dim lighted alleyway from the lobby through all the treatment rooms gives itself quite a mystical atmosphere while making the way through. All the 14 rooms are set surrounding the courtyard with a large window that opens to the hotel pool at the center. Here there are 9 standard rooms, 4 deluxe suites and 1 grand suite. Each named after the flowers in the garden of heaven. The single massage room is where we received the treatment. It is quite large and equips with toilet and shower and the massage area separated in a nice space.
There is wide range of treatments offered at the venue: massage, body scrub, body wraps, facial treatment water treatment or package. We got a chance to experienced two treatments: the signature "Devarana Massage" and "Mangosteen Peel Body Scrub.""Mangosteen Peel Body Scrub" is the scrub from the Thai fruit with antioxidant, antibacterial, properties while cleansing and rejuvenating skin. The course therapist is Khun Sakorn Panratree or Khun Duean who had a lot of experienced in Thailand's famous medical beauty center. This 60-minute treatment started with the use of hot towel with foot as for cleansing. Khun Duean started the treatment at the back part of body with the foot scrub and up to the leg then back and arm. Then lied on back started the same way. The scrub was done with the perfect touch of the finger. After the scrub, I was asked to rinse of the scrub. I didn't remember the last time I had such the skin treatment so it felt pretty nice to get rid of all dead skin cells. After the shower, 30-minute lemongrass lotion massage was done for skin nourishing. The scent of the lotion is nice and relaxing. This lovely treatment ended with the head massage which almost got me falling asleep.
The Devarana is the 90-minute unique massage with the combination of all Thai, Indian, Japanese and Swedish techniques as well as the use of aroma therapy. Khun Bim a pleasant and well educated (bachalor degree) was the therapist of the treatment. She worked as a assistant chiropractor at a hospital for many years before coming to Devarana. Having this backgroud made her really good as a therapist. She started with applying hot towel on the foot and the back forgetting the body ready relaxated prior to the massage. The treatment was a combination of many massage therapy from Thai Shiatsu Ayurveda with Swedish aroma therapy. The therapist apply long stokes from the elbow hands to fingers giving a really continuous relaxed feeling to many different parts of the body.

After busy days working, it's a good idea to get self relaxation and rejuvenation. If you plan to reward yourself with one, make your time to get one at the Devarana spa!
