The Living Room at the Sheraton Grande Sukhumvit is well known jazz venue on Sukhumvit. The place is easily accessed via Asoke BTS station and Sukhumvit MRT station. And tonight we got a chance to be there and found out the place really is what it presents itself: It simply swings!
The Living Room is the open space jazz lounge on the hotel's level 1. At night time, the place looks elegant with the earth tone and dark color decor together with the lighting. There is the bar serving various types of drinks; the usual and newly created ones. The stage stands nearby the bar. The comfortable sofa seatings are around the venue. Another interesting thing about the the Living Room is the the high ceiling glass that allows us to see the moving sky train from inside. It is quite stunning seeing it pass while sitting and listening to jazz.
At our visit, the venue featured the British vocalist Clare Foster who sang the Jazz tunes along with the regular performers of international trio: piano by Jeremy Monteiro, drums by Shawn Kelly and bass by Belinda Moody. On that night, the trio did such a terrific job. The live performance usually starts 9.30pm onwards.
The drinks come with customary snacks. Caipirinha is the popular cocktails which is very refreshing and simply becomes my favorite. Midori sour is the bartender's own creation which is not too sour as it's named. The venue's signature "Jazz Favorite" should suit the ladies with tasty and sweet flavor. There is also the wine tasting menu offering three red and white wines from different world regions in a small portion.

The Living Room features international live jazz every night: some are living legends such as Jeremy Monteiro, Earnie Watts, Alice Day, etc. This is a place you can simply chill out downtown. If you're a jazz fan and plan your visit or live in Bangkok, the Living Room is a must to visit!
