Cy'an

Address:The Metropolitan 27 South Sathorn Road Tungmahamek, Sathorn Bangkok 10120, Thailand

Cy'an at Metropolitan is one of the places we seem to often, we were there again this week. Cy'an is the place we're familiar with dinner. This time we visit at lunch when the day light reveals the simplicity of its design.

The atmosphere at day time was peaceful with not so many people. The natural light gives a perfect lighting to the tables near the glass wall. The outdoor seats are where you may prefer because they set by the pool and the surrounding garden gives a fresh air to the area.
The set lunch menu offered at Cy'an is the alternative of appetizer and main courses (at 540++ Baht) or 3 courses (at 620++ Baht) of appetizer, main course and dessert. When coming to Met, the thing we think of is the wheat grass juice which you can have at Glow, another outlet of the hotel. It takes around 1.5 sq.m. area of the top of wheat grass and sqweezed into a small shot. It's tempting to try it at the first time. To like or to hate this juice, it depends on your taste. For us, it's cool and sweet and we tend to like it.

Starting with appetizer, one of our members ordered Blue Crab which is the frittata with zucchini, chili, mint and rocket salad. It is very well presented. At first we were wondering if it would taste different from ordinary Thai omelet (Khai Jeo). After sampling we think that the peppery taste from chili and rockets' bitterness are what makes this frittata tasteful. Ocean Trout is the carpaccio with lemon, olive, caper and parsley salad. We also had the tiger prawns dish which is served with pumpkin tortellini, almonds, sage and amaretto butter.
We were almost full sampling the appetizer alone. For the menus recommended are the Sea Bass and 500 Day Grain Fed Wagyu Beef. The Sea Bass the roasted dish with fried garlic, chili and marjoram, lemon and parsley salad. It's perfectly cooked and go very well with the sauce. The 500 day grain fed wagyu beef is served with marinated Mediterranean vegetables, anchovy, caper butter.
This lunch really is a filling meal so we're already full. But we still have the dessert waiting so we got to go on. Exotic fruit and flower is an interesting sorbet selection of lemongrass, passion fruit, lime, tamarind, watermelon and mango. Bitter sweet dark chocolate cake with peanut is another menu in a la carte selection we tried. It tastes nice with the combination of all ingredients.

Cy'an offers you a value lunch set with nice ambience. If you happen to be around when it's lunch, keep in mind that there's Cy'an waiting for you!
