Manohra Luxury Cruise is a part of Bangkok Marriott Resort & spa’s service. Enjoy Thai food while cruising along Chao Phraya River. The cruise brings you to beautiful riverside night views of historical sights such as Phra Buddha Yodfa Bridge, Wat Tong Noppakhun, Santa Cruz Church, the Temple of Dawn, the Grand Palace, Wat Rakang, Thammasat University, Royal Barges, Somdej Phra Pinklao Bridge and Rama IIX Bridge. Also, you’ll get to see what people are doing along the riverside hotels such as the Oriental Hotel, the Peninsula, Shangri-La, Millennium Hilton and etc.

When cruising along the Chao Phraya River, we saw many other cruises. Most of them are modernized boats with large seating capacity and they usually serve buffet dinner. Manohra Luxury Cruise, on the other hand, serves a dinner set menu, on a 50-year-old modified rice barge. A more relaxing experience of having your dinner being brought to you...
The dinner set tonight includes Mieng Kam (traditional Thai appetizer with chapu leaves and condiments), Thod Mun Goong (crispy fried river prawns and shrimp caks with sweet chili dipping sauce), Yum Som O Hoy Shell (seared Japanese scallop salad with pomelo, limes and shallots), Tom Kha Gai (traditional Thai chicken and coconut soup with lemongrass), Mussaman Nuea (slow cooked braised in mussamun curry spices), Goong Lai Suea Sauce Kai Khem (tiger prawns with salted eggs dressing), Pla Hima (seared snow fish with fresh lime, shallots and chili sauce), and Khao Song See (red rice/white rice). For dessert, they serve Khao Niew Mamoung (mango with Thai sticky rice) and Sangkaya Fak Tong (pumpkin custard).

From the said menus, we were specially impressed by three menus which are Pla Hima, Yum Som O Hoy Shell and Mussaman Nuea. Pla Hima was pan seared therefore the moisture was kept in the fish giving it a nice flavorful texture. As for Yum Som O Hoy Shell, the yum(thai salad) was very adapted it was too sweet and lacking sour and spiciness, but the scallops were so fresh, and well cooked it made up for it. For Mussaman Nuea, the beef with tendons was braised slowly. Mussamun curry was made less spicy for foreigners, still it doesn’t loose any taste of Thai curry.

Enjoy three hours of Manohra’s dinner cruise daily. The cruise departs from Bangkok Marriott Resort & spa pier at 19:30 and returns around 22:30. The price is at 1,990 Bht per person (price is subject to 10% service charge and 7% applicable government tax).
