The thing I hate about long weekend is having to go to Hua Hin because it seems like everybody in Bangkok is going to be there. We were heading to The Sheraton Hua Hin Resort & Spa. The traffic was terrible which made us concerned, how the whole trip would be. I was told all the rooms were full. Luckily we made advanced reservations. So we did get a room but not the pool access room, we got the garden view room.

The Sheraton Hua Hin Resort & Spa consisted of many buildings. All of them are 2-story buildings. The lobby is on the second floor of the main building which faces directly to the ocean. The other buildings which are the different room types are set on the 2 sides, forming a large court yard. This court yard is like a paradise oasis with waters trees combined to be a sophisticated landscape space that leads to the sea.

What impressed us (and possibly everyone else) about the Sheraton Hua Hin the most is the lagoon pool which used up over ¼ of the resort area. This extraordinarily pool runs through the resort at varying scales from wide to narrow. With multi steps, bridges, and Jacuzzis here and there and at the end an infinity edge which blends with the sea. About ¼ of the guestrooms have direct access to the pool and another ¼ have poolside view. However, like I told you at the beginning that the resort was packed with people. So, the room we got was neither the pool accessible one nor the poolside viewable one. It was the one with a garden view. If talking about the room itself it was not bad, everything seems to be the same as the pool access room just without the view. If you're looking to spend a lot of time in the rooms, you should definitely go for the pool access. But all things come at a cost, the pool access rooms cost at about double the garden view rooms. These rooms on the weekend are very hot, advance reservation is advised.

The room has a nice 32" flat screen TV with some premium channels. But the TV system here are satellite systems which responds really slow and image quality is not so good. The open bathroom on other hand is very nice allows you to see the outside view or interact with your roommate, while having a nice warm bath.

Also worth mentioning is the breakfast buffet, which has many varieties of things, from western hotplates to thai noodles, prepared when ordered. After the first night we got to use more of the resort facilities; pool, spa, and restaurants, the trip didn't turn out to be like it started. It was actually the opposite. For our stay at the Sheraton Hua Hin this time, I have to say that spending some relaxing time at gazebo alongside the lagoon pool is a genuine charm.
