The spa is surrounded by luscious tropical garden. There are two luxury suites and seven deluxe rooms. One of the suite has an outdoor shower and a extra large bathtub for 2.

That day I tried the Deep Tissues Sport massage, one of the strongest I've had. I have to tell you, the day before having this treatment I played basketball against some 13-year-old boys at Lumpini Park. For a guy my age, playing with these boys are tough. So, I was in need of some massage to loosen up. And the Sport massage is just what I need. Khun Wa, my therapist, really gave me a lot of pain with her elbows running all over my back and legs. It's actually not her fault, my muscles were really stiff. To loosen it up, it had to hurt. At the end the pain went away and it felt good. The massage oil they use here is sweet almond-based like all the other spas, but a little bit different, it provides more friction. Which makes treatment stronger.
My companion chose Ritual of Javanese Lulur which is a traditional Javanese beauty treatment made from a blend of powdered spices and sweet woods. Khun Toom was in charge of the Javanese treatment. This treatment is much softer than the one I had. The therapist used her hands and sometimes her elbows to massage.

There are many branches of Mandara Spa mostly in Marriott chain of hotels in Thailand. But there are also some branches in other hotels such as the Royal Orchid Sheraton or the Sala Samui resort. Mandara Spa at Bangkok Marriott Resort & Spa is probably one of the first branches around. Those who are used to the treatments of Mandara Spa will be able to enjoy the same comfort of their favorite treatment at any branch whether in Bangkok, Phuket, Hua Hin, or even Las Vegas.
