InterContinental opening party
 
After the complete face lift which started since the 3rd quarter of 2008, the Intercontinental Bangkok celebrated with an exclusive party on 20th May for privileged guest only. We were fortunate to be invited and witness what they had to offer. The party launched with champagne at the lobby to see the new design.They completely changed the finishings, lightings and furnishing. Then we were escorted one floor above to the "Espresso" restaurant. The design looked bright pleasant and smart. There we were serve a plate of four appetizers. We were then moved to Grossy a new Italian restaurant located at the basement floor where the Deli use to be. The restaurant is spacious with 3 story high ceiling and comfortable seatings. Here we were served either beef lamb or fish for the main dish. I chose the lamb. It was a big juicy piece. If I had a camera with me you'd see how nice it looked. The desert was also nice. After the full course we were very full. We need a walk, luckily it was time to move again. We were guided to the lobby, there is an awesome cigar lounge /bar. There, we were served 18 years single malt, with a Cuban stogy. By that time it was way pass our bed time. The Intercontinental was very thoughtful to notice that, they gave us the key to their room.
