The Princess Mother Memorial Park

Somdet Ya is the title Thai people have given to their late beloved Somdet Phra Srinagarindra, HRH the Princess Mother. It literally means "Princess Grandmother" reflecting the closeness of the late Princess Mother to the Thai people. The HRH Princess Mother Memorial park was opened by King Bhumibol, Rama IX, on January 21, 1997. The park is divided into 2 parts. The shady front part is filled with big old fig tree aged over 100 years, a big fountain bowl and flowers. The inner part is surrounded with pavement which can be used as jogging track Apart from preserving old trees, an old King Rama V period-style 2-storey building is also maintain and is presently used as the office of the park.
Exhibition Hall 1: Exhibits the pictures of Sorndet Ya, places she once lived, a history of Wat Anonkharam Community where she was born and lived, and gifts from people during her funeral. At the middle of the hall, visitors can watch the biographical videos of Somdet Ya and listen to her speech.

Exhibition Hall 2 : Exhibits Somdet Ya's per?sonal affects, her dresses, and her handicrafts. The wall at the far end is decorated with paintings.

Sculpture : The bas-relief cut in a huge sand-stone slab features the depiction of numerous activities of HRH the Princess Mother carried out in remote areas, and the scene of Wai Sa Mae Fah Luang procession in celebration for her.
Model House : The Department of Fine Arts mode a model of the house in which Somdet Ya used to live during her childhood.
