VIE Dining

VIE Dining is located on the 11th floor of VIE Hotel Bangkok. It is the main dinning room of the hotel. For breakfast and lunch it is a buffet, but you can also order la carte. For dinner, if you choose, there is a mini buffet (soup and salad) avialable, other than that they offer an Asian and international menu. Inside the restaurant, there are many types of seating options to choose. From standard seating, leather benches, to comfortable lounge sofas. The seats are well spread out which provides privacy. 
We went there for diner and tried some items from the a la carte menu. The first dish was rocket salad with beetroot, blue cheese, and walnuts. Normally, the rocket salad is served with balsamic vinegar dressing, but here is it a lemon dressing. The lemon dressing taste refreshing and goes along well with the blue cheese and walnut. The second dish is somewhat a Chinese dish which we didn't expect to see here, but it was tempting and it would be interesting to try. It is scallops and Chinese broccoli in dried shrimps and squid’s chili paste. The scallops were perfectly cooked. They’re very soft and moist. We were really surprised and impressed to find a good Chinese dish here. Another thing we found here is the wine is very affordable, only 200 baht  by the glass.

The attentive staff recommended steaks for main, so steak it is. We looked at the menu and what caught our eyes was "one minute sirloin" an Australian wagyu marble score 9. I have to say the chef is quite a steak expert. He knew how cook a steak. It is very tender with fat. It tasted so good even without any sauce. Another main dish is lamb ratatouille. The lamb was sliced into pieces, which shows how pretty it looked. It was brown outside and still pink on the inside. To wrap up this evening, we had a panacotta with vanilla ice-cream in raspberry sauce. The top of the Panacotta was a thin layer of sugar caramelized by a blow torch, when top with ice cream, it turns crispy. It is a mixture of texture and taste.
