Harlem Globe Trotters in Bangkok

 
As a kid Growing up in the States, seeing the Harlem Globe Trotters on the television was a real treat. I always enjoyed the acrobatic performance they do with the basketball. It was almost like seeing a circus.   



Now 30 years later I had my chance to see them live at the Impact arena in Bangkok. I still wanted to see them do their show. I took my daughter to see them with me. She never heard of them but was excited after telling her a brief info. We drove to the Impact arena on a clear sunny day. At the parking I was surprised there were so many peoples. Inside the arena same, the place was packed. Obviously many peoples there were my age and many kids. The show started with Globie the mascot running around the custom Globe Trotters court with spot lights on him. A big applause from the fans when the team ran out and each member did a basket ball trick, showing personal abilities. The opposite team was booed because the coach said he did not like Thailand (to have a good guy and the bad guy, like a show). The game went on with a lot of acrobatic tricks from the skilled hands of the players. With involvements from the crowds on many occasion. The show/performance/setup was run by Special K the team captain. He was the only one with a wireless microphone. I was good fun.
