Pattaya's first themed beach hotel opens

Centara Grand Mirage Beach Resort Pattaya, the first truly themed hotel in Thailand, will stage its grand opening on November 3, 2009 with a spectacular Lost World-Indiana Jones theme party.

Located on Wong Amat Beach in North Pattaya, the 5-star resort hotel is designed to a Lost World concept and as a destination hotel located directly on the beach with its own jungle, waterpark and diverse attractions represents an exciting new opportunity for Thailand’s tourism and MICE industries.

The hotel is designed as two 18-storey towers connected by sky bridges, and features 555 rooms and suites all facing the ocean. Guests have direct access to the beach, a 230-metre stretch of gently sloping fine sand with an extensive range of beach and water sport activities including windsurfing, kayaking, boating and fishing.

Sporting a contemporary Thai style decor, the room options include Deluxe, Deluxe Ocean View, Premium Deluxe, Deluxe Family, Club Mirage, and Suites, all with their own private balcony or terrace overlooking the resort gardens and ocean. Minimum room size is 42 square metres, with the choice of a king-sized bed or two double beds.

Club Mirage offers exclusive facilities and services for the discerning traveller, including private club lounge access with indoor and outdoor seating and Centara signature service of five complimentary daily meal presentations.

The Lost World has its own jungle where there is an intriguing water park with swimming pools, water slides, and a lazy river with waterfalls. The hotel is well organised for children, with a kids’ club and a daily activity programme that includes an indoor camp safari and games rooms for ages three to nine years, while teenage guests have a separate e-zone games and meeting area.

There are a number of innovative specialty restaurants and bars. Flames is a beachfront BBQ and grill. Ginger & Lime, located in the resort gardens, serves Japanese, Thai, Chinese and Vietnamese cuisines. Modern Italian cuisine, with the focus on fresh seafood, is served at Acqua. Zulu is a lively bar with a DJ and private karaoke rooms, making it a good place for a party.

SPA Cenvaree is located in its own oceanfront village, a luxurious venue for traditional aromatherapy and therapeutic massages and treatments together with the resort’s pedicure and manicure salon, yoga, and meditation sala.

Grand Mirage Beach Resort Pattaya offers a wide choice of versatile convention and meeting rooms within Meeting Village to make it particularly attractive to MICE planners and organisers of corporate meetings and private events.

At 1,000 square metres, the Mirage Grand Ballroom is the largest venue at the resort and is one of the largest ballrooms in Pattaya, being capable of accommodating up to 1,200 persons for meetings, private receptions, banquets, and multi-media productions. Five other suites are available, with capacities ranging between 160 and 210 persons. Additional reception venues include the Ballroom garden terrace, beachside garden, roof garden, and poolside.
