Many can easily mistaken Phuket to Patong and Patong to Phuket. Patong is the tourist and nightlife capitol of Phuket. It is the first and the most developed beach destination in the Island. A beach side city with many activities on the beach and in the city. Although very densely populate with beach side hotels and resorts, a new one manage to be part of the Patong lifestyle, to add more diversity and choice for the traveler.

B-Lay Tong is the new beach side city resort located at the very north of Patong. About a little more than 1 kilometers away from Bangla road(center of Patong night life). From the approach B-Lay does not seem like the usual resort. The simple lines and plans are composite to form a unique design. The entrance is a bit ambiguous but once inside the friendly staff makes you feel right at home. At the white lobby the big blue sculpture sofa would catch anyones eye. There are more of these sofa/sculpture in the garden. While waiting for the the check in, we were served welcome drinks and cool towers. The lobby looks out to the Patong beach and the infinity edge pool.

The pool has a long glass wall which gives it a sexy element. The resort is composed of small buildings connected by walk ways and formed into a U-shape complex, creating a large courtyard in the center. The courtyard has a garden and a beautiful pool.

There are many room types to choose from. Many types of suites. The presidential suite looks as if it is design for a big party. Another interesting room type are the pool access. There are more smaller pools that surrounds the garden where the guest of these rooms can have direct access to the pool. The deluxe sea view room, the one that we got has a spectacular sea view. The spacious room has a large balcony and a large jacuzzi(another sexy element) that looks out to the garden, the pool and the sea. I would come here again just for the jacuzzi. The minimalist style room is all white with a touch of blue. It is very well equipped with 32 inch plasma TV, ipod docking sterio, over-sized safe deposit for notebooks, etc. Also everything in the mini bar is free. Another sexy element is the bath room. It is almost all glass enclosure, if privacy is needed the blind does work.

Breakfast is served at BB room. At the time we were there, we were able to choose from the Ala carte menu from Asian favorites to western. It was a wide variety. We had the american breakfast and a cheese plater. It was serve with a basket of fresh bakery, fresh fruit, fresh juice and a fine fresh brewed coffee. I assume for high season it would be a buffet. Actually the breakfast can be served any where in the resort at the pool in the rooms and at any time of the day. That's probably another sexy factor. During the breakfast the friendly GM takes time to greet his guest.

The pool is the center art piece of the resort, it provides views for most of the rooms. It is simply beautiful with the background of the blue Andaman sea.  Being on top of the B restaurant gives it an nice elevated view of the beach. Having a dip and looking through the infinity edge out to the sea gives a clam feel. Even though Patong is already saturated with beautiful resorts, B-Lay Tong has some uniqueness that deserves to be here. It will definitely be a wow factor once it is fully opened.
