APPOINTMENT OF HOTEL MANAGER

BANYAN TREE BANGKOK

Banyan Tree Hotels and Resorts are delighted to announce the appointment of Mr. Sriram Kailasam as Hotel Manager of Banyan Tree Bangkok.

Mr Kailasam took up the position in September 2010 and in his role as Hotel Manager of Banyan Tree Bangkok, he is ultimately responsible for ensuring that the urban hotel operates in line with the Group’s mission statement, meeting fiscal and qualitative objectives. He will be leading, coordinating and supervising the entire operational activities in the group’s 61-storey iconic hotel in Bangkok.

Mr Kailasam is not new to the Banyan Tree Group. He joined in 2003 as Executive Sous Chef of Banyan Tree Phuket and was promoted to F&B Manager in 2004; in 2005 came his appointment as EAM in charge of F&B at Banyan Tree Bangkok. One year later, in 2006, he took over also a corporate role becoming Group Director of F&B, which was followed in 2008 by his appointment as AVP Food & Beverage for the group, a position which he continues to hold concurrently with his new Hotel Manager role.

Holder of a Post-graduate diploma from the Oberoi School of Management, Mr Kailasam began his career as a hotelier in India in 1990 with the acclaimed Oberoi Hotels. He later moved to Australia where he worked for several refined establishments such as Starwood at the Sheraton on the Park & Four Points Sheraton Hotel, and also the Stamford Hotel. He also did a stint in Cambodia with Hotel Le Royal (a Raffles hotel).

An Australian national, Mr Kailasam is married with two children. Reading, golf and running are amongst his passions, and he also recently completed his first full marathon.
