Benihana is a Japanese tepanyaki restaurant chain originated from the US. It includes a show with the dining experience. There are 2 branches in Thailand. The Bangkok one is at the Marriott Spa and Resort Bangkok. The second one is in Pattaya at the Royal Garden shopping complex. On Sunday at the Pattaya branch there is an attractive buffet brunch deal.

Once in the restaurant you’ll notice the many cooking stations. All the tables here have private cooking stations. And you’ll be assigned a personal chef for your table. Our chef for that day was khun Sakda.  He is not too experience but playful which made the lunch entertaining with his jokes and little mistakes.

After we have taken our seats, we headed to the buffet lines. There are many items to choose from Sushi, tempura and all the familiar Japanese items are offered.  There is even a chilled seafood section with Alaskan king crabs, river prawns and a variety of other seafood. The roasted prime rib looked very nice. The main item would be the fresh raw meats for the tapanyaki. There are many items to choose from, beef, lamb, salmon, prawns and etc. What really caught my eye was the scallop and lobster which I made many trips to go back for more. khun Sakda  took our raw items at the table and made a performance out of it. The output was a well season and cooked delicacy. The show went on as long as we keep bringing the main ingredients which went on for many trips. After that, it was the fried rice. Chef Sakda made sure that it is not just the food but also a show. There was also a variety of desserts.
