Centara appoints Mr. Philip Hall Group Director of Sales & Marketing     


      
Mr. Gerd Steeb, President of Centara Hotels & Resorts, has announced the appointment of Mr. Philip Hall as Group Director of Sales and Marketing.
      
Mr. Hall, a 39-year-old British national, has many years of experience in the travel industry gained from areas including hotel sales and marketing, destination management and servicing the end user. He has been based in Thailand since 1998, and joins Centara from the position of Director of International Sales at Anantara Hotels, Resorts & Spas, part of the Minor Hotel Group.
     
Reporting to Mr. Chris Bailey, Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing, Mr. Hall will be responsible for overseeing the sales and marketing operations of Centara Hotels & Resorts.
      
“We are very pleased that Philip Hall is joining us, and feel that his long experience in both the travel and hospitality sectors of the industry in Thailand and overseas will be of immense benefit to the company as we continue our growth strategy,” said Mr. Steeb.
      
Centara Hotels & Resorts is Thailand’s largest operator of hotels, with 37 deluxe and first-class properties covering all the major tourist destinations in the Kingdom.  A further nine resorts in the Maldives, Indian Himalayas, Philippines and Vietnam brings the present total to 46 properties.  Brands and properties within Centara ensure that specific categories such as couples, families, individuals, and meetings and incentives groups will all find a hotel or resort that is appropriate to their needs.  Centara operates 19 branches of Spa Cenvaree, one of Thailand’s most luxurious and innovative spa brands, and the company’s Kids’ Club is available at all the family-friendly resorts to ensure that the youngsters and teens are taken care of. Centara Hotels & Resorts also operates two state-of-the-art convention centres in Bangkok, and one in Udon Thani in northeastern Thailand.
