The Bangkok Marriott Resort and Spa

Samrae Thonburi · Bangkok, 10600 Thailand

From the hectic Bangkok roads, entering the premises of the resort provide a relaxing resort feel. The mature trees along the driveway greeted us with their shade. For a weekend the resort can be busy but the check-in was not a problem.  The staff handled us efficiently with pleasure.

We were guided to our room on the northern wing. Our room was a junior suite, about double the size of the standard room.  It easily accommodates 2 adults and 2 children (the virtual tour above shows it). There is a balcony that looks out to the pool and river.

For only a short weekend, the best activity that the whole family can enjoy is in the pool.  The refreshing pool was good getaway for a hot day. The multi angular pool provides a space for everyone but when it’s full it seems a bit crowded.

It is placed in a beautiful garden.  The outdoor hot Jacuzzi is also another alternative. After a cool down at the pool getting hot again can be satisfying.  There is a restaurant by the pool that has pretty good salad and sandwiches.

The Bangkok Marriott Resort and Spa has many other restaurants like the Trader Vic’s, Bennihana, Brio, the Manhora Cruises, the Riverside Terrace, and other bars I couldn’t remember their names. We tried the BBQ buffet dinner at the Riverside Terrace. The food was fine good quality many varieties. But it is not the place you would come for just food. The restaurant has a beautiful river view especially in the evening with many sets of Thai cultural shows.

The Bangkok Marriott Resort and Spa is one of those places to have a Bangkok getaway without leaving Bangkok. Just less than an hour drive we can have a relaxing weekend vacation. It is one of the few Bangkok hotels that is a real resort, large mature trees, garden with blooming flowers, sensational pool and stunning river views. It is also well equip with sporting facilities, spas, and many restaurant to choose from in the resort. It has been around for more than 10 years, but it did not feel old at all. It is very well maintained and frequently refurbished.
