New Executive Chef at Banyan Tree Bangkok

Bangkok, February 2018 – Banyan Tree Hotels & Resorts is delighted to announce the appointment of Mr. Heshan Peiris as the new Executive Chef for Banyan Tree Bangkok’s 11 restaurants.

Chef Peiris was raised by culinary expert parents in Melbourne, Australia. His culinary career started when he was an apprentice at Melbourne Racing Club whilst pursuing a degree in culinary arts at William Angliss Institute. Over the last 16 years he has lived and worked internationally with Hilton hotels in Melbourne, Sydney and Seychelles. Prior to joining Banyan Tree Bangkok, Chef Peiris worked in Laguna Lang Co in Vietnam.

I’m excited to be working with the talented team of Banyan Tree Bangkok, learning from them and in my turn sharing my knowledge to create a fresh new and exciting dining experience for our guests.”


Travelling around the world and experiencing different cooking styles, Chef Peiris focuses on bringing joy to his guests through food. He believes in bringing traditional food to new dimensions, modernizing the presentation while valuing original ingredients and keeping is the essence of each dish. His favourite cuisines are French, Vietnamese and Thai.
