In 2012, Gérard Bertrand was named “Red Winemaker of the Year” after winning 46 accolades and two trophies for his wines. Balanced and elegant, the wines are a pure expression of the South of France, produced at eight winemaking estates across the best terroirs of Languedoc.
Created to pair with an outstanding selection of Gérard Bertrand wines from the “primoVino by Rossini’s” cellar, the gourmet menu will be an unforgettable culinary experience.
The Gérard Bertrand Wine Dinner will begin with an aperitif and the chef’s delicious savory bites. Seated in Rossini’s enchanting Tuscan villa setting, diners will enjoy exceptional dishes including a starter of foie gras parfait with Iberico ham and black Mission figs served with Gérard Bertrand Réserve Spéciale Sauvignon Blanc, a fresh and seductive light bodied wine with strong notes of citrus and exotic fruits. The second dish of the evening will be lobster plin with an heirloom tomato consommé, Fine de Claire oysters and fava beans. The flavorful soup will be paired with Gérard Bertrand Cigalus Blanc, a full-bodied white wine with touches of vanilla, butter and tropical fruit. A main course of succulent slow cooked veal fillet with salsify and zucchini flowers flavored with truffle will follow served with Gérard Bertrand Cigalus Rouge, an outstanding wine that marries the indigenous grapes varieties of Cabernet Franc, Carignan and Caladoc to create an opulent and perfectly balanced wine bursting with aromas of blackberries, cherries and plums. The gourmet wine dinner will end with an irresistible ligher-bodied and citrusyfrosted orange liquor cannelloni, clementine sorbet and ruby grapefruit followed by petit fours of Rossini pastries, coffee or tea.
