Grand Millennium Sukhumvit

| June 13, 2012

There was a high school reunion coming up. The reunion was held at the school. I decided spend the weekend nearby as the party was on a Friday the evening. To avoid traffic and driving, it was a good choice. The Grand Millennium Sukhumvit was just in walking distance. So it was a great opportunity to take the family out for a weekend in the city.

We arrive in the evening; our room was an executive suite with club lounge privileges. The check in was at the club lounge. During that time there was an evening cocktail. They were serving cocktails wines and beer including canapés and varieties of food and dessert. This could be dinner; there were a lot to choose from more than other club lounges I’ve been to.

It went to the reunion walking. What a nice feel to just walk to school. If houses and school were closer like in walking distance. It would of made Bangkok traffic much lighter. Time would be tremendously saved to do other things than getting stuck in traffic jams. While coming back from the party, a friend wanted to give me a ride. It felt good to say “Thanks! But I’m walkin”.

Our room was, very spacious; separate living room and bed room. It is nicely furnished with modern furnishing and earth tone color theme. The bed was very comfortable; I had a nice sleep here.

The breakfast at the club lounge is something to talk about. They make the best cappuccino here. The view from here is also amazing; I could spend hours here having coffee and canapés which is provided all day. The staffs were very attentive and will do the extra to make guest happy. Not to miss were the waffles.

The area where the hotel is located is right in the center of Sukhumvit happening spot. Shopping would be a good activity while staying here. Just across the street is the newly open Terminal 21. A BTS station away is the Emporium Shopping complex. At night this neighborhood is full of restaurants and bars all in walking distance. For Thai cuisine, Baan Thanitha; French, Le Petit Zinc; Vietnamese, Le Dalat; Italian, Giusto, the list goes on and on; Japanese, Chinese, Indian etc. Other than the red light area of soi Cowboy which is about 200 meters away, there are many bars and clubs also here. To name a few; Glow Nartz, Barsu, the Clubhouse bar and grill, the Queen Vitoria Pub, etc.

We had a nice weekend in Bangkok even though we already live in Bangkok but going to places with only a short walk is just a great experience.
