Isawan at the Grand Hyatt Erawn Bangkok

| August 30, 2016

Everyone knows Grand Hyatt Erawan Bangkok, it is the most predominant 5 star hotel in the Ratchadamri area, but not many people know there is a hidden resort like cottage in this hotel called the Isawan Spa Cottage. Isawan is the spa at the Grand Hyatt Erawan Bangkok meaning “king’s property”. Part of Isawan is the spa cottages. The spa cottages are actually ultra-luxury guest rooms.

Our check inn was very worry free, our butler was already expecting us at the Isawan floor she guided us to our room and introduced us to the room facilities and amenities. The cottage was very large, there was a living room, master bedroom, large open bathroom with a steam shower, an outdoor terrace that look out to the Ratchaprasong intersection. There was also a private spa treatment room.  Many nice touches they put to the room for example there were: healthy fruits and vegetable drinks and snack filled the refrigerator which is offered to guest as complimentary. There were two high quality blue-tooth speakers provide for guest usage in the cottage.

The pool

The cottage was accessible through the roof garden which is also where the pool is. So you are just a few steps from the pool. The pool is salt water; free form shape surrounded by trees. It was quite large as when there were many guests in the pool, it still feels comfortable. Next to the pool is an outdoor hot Jacuzzi. It was nicely placed under the shade of the luscious garden. isawan01 Grand Club Benefits

As the spa cottages are considered suite room category we also get grand club benefits which include evening cocktails and canapés. The grand club lounge is located on the 17th floor of the hotel tower which offers very nice views of the Ratchaprasong area.

What’s near by During our stay there were many things to do in the area just by walking distance. As you may have known Ratchaprasong is Bangkok shopping district, it includes restaurants and entertainment venues: Central World, Gaysorn Plaza, Amarin Plaza. Further down the street is the Pratunam shopping area, Siam Center, Central Chitlom, Central Embassy. There are even some niche shops and restaurants at shopping mall on the lowers floors of the Grand Hyatt Erawan. erawan-tea-room12 One of the restaurants is the Erawan Tea Room, they have a special deal for all you can eat Thai diner menu for only 950++ per person.  There were many items you can select from the menu from; appetizers, main dishes including dessert. Here are some if the dishes: erawan-tea-room16 Todmun plakai erawan-tea-room15 Khaotang natang erawan-tea-room14 Lab moo erawan-tea-room13 Nua pad nammun hoi erawan-tea-room11 Kung tod kratiem erawan-tea-room10 Chuchee pla erawan-tea-room09 Pla nungmanao erawan-tea-room08 Yum som O erawan-tea-room07 Tomyum kung erawan-tea-room06 Kai kwow klua erawan-tea-room04 Moo yang erawan-tea-room03 Chocolate fondon with vanilla ice cream erawan-tea-room02 Tabtim klob erawan-tea-room01 Bua loy

To complete the Isawan experience, included with the Spa Cottage is the spa treatment. The recommended treatment was the Essence of i.sawan which is the signature treatment. It’s a unique combination of Swedish, aromatherapy and Thai massage technique. My therapist was very talented as she can feel your trouble areas just by examining the tension of your muscles. She worked my sore muscles that relaxed me throughout the day.

Our experience at Isawan was very rare, considering; this is a city hotel that is located right in the center of Bangkok point of happenings. It felt like an out of the city resort. With this in mind we felt like we had the best of both worlds the active city and the calmness of the countryside. So if you want to get out of Bangkok but at the same time being in the center. This is the only place to be.
