Located on the second floor of the Mandarin Oriental Bangkok. The expansive floor to ceiling windows provides a panoramic of the Chaopraya River. The interior is about the sea, pearls, shell, and fishes with aqua tones.

At the entrance the hostess greeted and guided us to our table, walking by the large linear fish tank. The dinning space was almost full with large groups of families occupying many of the tables. A nice lively family ambiance.

As the interior shows Lord Jim focuses on seafood from raw sashimi to cooked western style. For dinner it’s an A la carte menu. For lunch it offers a wide selection of food, buffet style. Especially Sunday, more items are offered.

There so many things to choose from, I started my feast with sashimi. There were some nice selections. The hamachi and salmon are at high quality. Continued with roasted rock lobster, seafood paella, seared duck breast in cherry sauce, and pan seared foie gras with peach sauce. Followed by slow roasted prime ribs and lamb cutlets with potato baked cheese and mint sauce.

For dessert; panna cotta, vanilla ice cream, berry cheese cake and the chefs recommendation a creamy pudding top with chocolate pebbles. I had a great time with the family and the large Sunday lunch.
