Marcus Bauder/Hotel Manager/Mandarin Oriental, Bangkok

Mrs. Amanda Hyndman, General Manager of Mandarin Oriental, Bangkok, announced the appointment of Mr. Marcus Bauder as Hotel Manager recently.   A German national, Khun Marcus holds a hotel management degree from a hotel school in Germany as well as several certificates from Cornell University, Ithaca, USA.    He started his career as an apprentice at Hotel Breidenbacher Hof in Germany before leaving the country to work at Jebel Ali Hotel & Golf Resort and Burj Al Arab in Dubai. He later joined Corinthia Hotels in Libya and Prague.   His first stint in Asia was clinching the position of Director of F&B at the Shangri-La’s Far Eastern Plaza Hotel in Taipei; and was subsequently promoted to Resident Manager for the opening of the Shangri-La Tokyo.   His most recent position prior to joining Mandarin Oriental, Bangkok was Hotel Manager at China World Hotel in Beijing.  He also spent three months at Mandarin Oriental, Singapore assisting as Resident Manager looking after Food & Beverage.
