Monkey Shoulder Global Brand Ambassador swings by Hyde & Seek and Ku De Ta
Dean Callan, Global Brand Ambassador of Monkey Shoulder, played host to guests during his guest bartending shifts at two of Bangkok’s most in-vogue venues, Hyde & Seek Gastro Bar and Ku De Ta, at which he presented special cocktails featuring the world’s First Triple Malt Scotch Whisky, Monkey Shoulder. The self-confessed whisky geek treated guests to a high-energy session in concocting whisky-based cocktails emphasizing the rich taste and mellow vanilla smoothness of Monkey Shoulder .
Hyde & Seek provided a great venue for some informal tippling, with three signature cocktails created for the evening. “Monkey Old Fashioned” is made using Monkey Shoulder with sugar syrup and Angostura bitters. “Penicillin” combines Monkey Shoulder with smoky whisky , lemon juice, ginger juice and honey for a knock-out punch, while another product of William Grant & Sons, Tullamore Dew, an Irish Whiskey is a key ingredient in “Cameron’s Kick” (with lemon juice and Orgeat syrup).
The Ku De Ta shift had a slightly more formal feel amid its well-heeled gathering. –Three signature cocktails were uniquely served in shot glasses paired with a complementary snack. “Monkey Old Fashioned” was served along with Malteser chocolate. “Morning Glory Fizz” features Monkey Shoulder mixed with Absinthe and egg white; balanced off with the zest of fresh lemon and lime juice, matched with black Liquorice candy. Lastly “Mamie Taylor”, a blend of Monkey Shoulder, fresh lime juice and classic Ginger Ale, was served with ginger biscuit.

Monkey Shoulder, a two-fingered salute to the stuffiness of Scotch snob traditionalism, draws on some sublimely awesome single malt whiskies; all malt, no grain, no compromise. Enjoy the versatility of Monkey Shoulder straight up (in a whisky snifter, naturally), over ice, or mixed in cocktails as seen on these two nights.
