Savor the “Flavors of Malaysia” this June with Two Talented Guest Chefs at Goji Kitchen + Bar
Goji Kitchen + Bar, the vibrant international culinary marketplace at Bangkok Marriott Marquis Queen’s Park, will transport diners on a multi-sensory journey to Malaysia this June, as two talented chefs from Marriott Bonvoy’s hotels in Kuala Lumpur arrive in Thailand for a 10-day promotion that will showcase an amazing array of highly authentic Malaysian recipes at the restaurant’s popular evening dinners, weekend lunches and Sunday brunches.

Chef Nor Halis Shafik bin Ahmad leads the Malay Banquet Kitchen at Renaissance Kuala Lumpur Hotel & Convention Centre, one of the Malaysian capital’s leading hotels. Chef Halis, as he is better known, grew up working at his family’s food stall at a night market in KL. He has now become a culinary maestro with more than 19 years of experience in the kitchens of leading hotels across the country.
He is joined in Bangkok by Chef Ahmad bin Marsidi, Demi Chef at The Mesh, the all-day dining destination at Four Points by Sheraton Kuala Lumpur, City Centre. Originally hailing from Johor in the south of Malaysia, Chef Ahmad started cooking at an early age and has become an expert in the epicurean arts, delighting local and international diners with his unique take on classical Malaysian cuisine.

Together, these two exceptional chefs will now present the “Flavors of Malaysia” at Goji Kitchen + Bar with a selection of timeless dishes and regional recipes. Guests can discover fresh salads including Kerabu Mangga Udang Kerisik (grilled tiger prawn & mango salad with homemade sauce, dried prawns, toasted coconut and crushed peanuts), Kerabu Jantung Pisang Ikan Bilis (banana blossom salad with anchovies, onion, chili and lemon), a sublime soup of Sup Ekor Rempah Asli (Malay spiced oxtail soup with carrot, potato and Chinese celery), and a colorful rice dish of Nasi Pelangi Kismis Madu (rainbow basmati rice cooked in ghee with honey raisins and golden cashew nuts).
Sensational seafood can be savored with Sambal Tumis Udang Petai (fried tiger prawns with aromatic chili paste and stink beans), and Pajeri Nedas Udang Kering (red curry with pineapple and dried shrimp), and mouth-watering meat dishes include Rendang Daging Tok Perak (slow-braised beef tenderloin with local spices, toasted coconut and turmeric leaves), Ayam Panggang Percik Nedas (aromatic grilled boneless chicken with tangy pineapple, turmeric, and coconut sauce), and Kuzi Kambing Pantai Timur (slow-braised lamb shank in tomato & coriander paste with raisins and cashew nuts).
This Malaysian epicurean adventure then concludes with a choice of delectable desserts: Bubur Kacang Hijau Durian (warm green bean porridge with pearl sago, durian, coconut milk and palm sugar), and Onde-Onde Pandan Gula Melaka (chewy pandan dough balls with sweet palm sugar).

These delicacies will be available for 10 days at Goji Kitchen + Bar’s regular buffets and brunches, alongside a sumptuous selection of seafood on ice, freshly-shucked oysters, sushi & sashimi, premium cheeses and imported cold cuts. An Asian live station will feature tom yum seafood soup, homemade dim sum, fish maw soup, Thai seafood salad, and a live som tum station, plus grilled river prawns and Peking duck for Sunday brunch, while Western-style dishes will include pan-seared Hokkaido scallops, grilled Australian lamb rack, pork belly with crispy crackling, a live pasta station, and whole-baked salt-crusted salmon. This June, guests can also experience authentic Greek cuisine at the Mediterranean Corner, including lamb souvlaki, moussaka, dolmades (stuffed vine leaves), soutzoukakia (lamb meatballs), and spanakopita (spinach & feta filo pie), plus traditional salads, soups and fresh fruit. And of course, every lunch, brunch or dinner can end on a sweet note with a variety of cakes, mousses, pastries, ice creams and Thai desserts, including mango sticky rice.
