Sunday brunch at Tables, Grand Hyatt Erawan Bangkok

Tables, at the Grand Hyatt Erawan had been very successful with there a la carte menu. Recently they just offered a Sunday Brunch, so we decided to check it out. The dining area is a cozy dimly lit space, dark tones, well spread out table’s offers comfort and privacy. The ambience is perfect for a relaxing long Sunday brunch. The restaurant’s name “Tables” comes from the various live cooking tables it offers. Here are some of the tables on that day.

For appetizers, we started with Steak tartar, Caesar salad and duck liver terrine with Port-wine fig.

The lobster bisque with cognac was awesome. This bisque was not overly too creamy, so the lobster’s taste really shone. The bitterness of the lobster head was quite appealing.

Smoked Atlantic salmon with capers and seasonal oyster served with mignonette.

Lobster salad. The great thing about this dish was lobster was very sweet and dressing did not overpower it.

The Lobster thermidor is a very rich dish, as it should be. The lobster was baked with béchamel sauce, cheese and parmesan.

A trio of risotto: champagne, mushroom and seafood. Our favorite was the mushroom.

Sautéed scallops with tomatoes, capers and olives served with crunchy garlic bread. Because this is freshly made when order, the scallops are really tender.

A combination platter: standing roast rib eye 240 days grain fed from Australia (on the right). Veal cooked with porcini and beetroot (on the left). Pork saltimbocca, stir fried with Parma ham and sage (far middle). My favorite was the rib eye. This succulent roast rib eye would surely pleased steak lovers.

Then we turn to desserts. Cherry Jubilee and peace melba are recommended items when we visited.

A wide selection of tasty tarts pralines and truffles that would please everyone. Freshly prepared food always tastes great and Tables have done a great job to demonstrate this. Price 1,400++ THB per person including iced tea, water, coffee and tea, 800++ THB for children aged 6-12. The Sunday Brunch Beverage Package is priced at THB 580++ per person which include free-flow Prosecco, rose, wine, beer, orange juice and soft drinks
